The braking module (BRU), with its braking resistor, is designed to limit the DC link voltage (DC BUS) during generator operation when the line input stage is unable to recover energy from the field to the mains. The braking module can work autonomously or it can be controlled by an external smart unit. The parallel operation of several braking modules is also possible, each of which must have its own external braking resistor.
